Belinda Hyde Joins The Plaid Horse Staff
New Lisbon, NJ.—September 8, 2009— Cindy Taylor, Editor of The Plaid Horse magazine, is pleased to announce that Belinda Hyde, former Advertising Sales Manager at The Chronicle of the Horse magazine in Virginia, has joined the staff as an Advertising Sales Representative.
Ms Hyde, who resides In Purcellville, VA, was a leading force at the Chronicle's successful advertising department for more than 12 years. She was also instrumental in launching several projects outside of the sales arena, which contributed directly to the continued growth of the publication year after year. Now as her son Hunter, 17, approaches the end of high school and prepares to head off to college at Virginia Tech, she too longed for a new challenge. "Joining the Plaid Horse just made sense. I have watched the magazine's success over the past 4-5 years and when the opportunity to be a part of its continued growth was presented, well I couldn't resist!" Belinda said. The Plaid Horse's publisher-editor Cindy Taylor feels like she's "connected with a long lost friend" stating she and Belinda "clicked" at once. "She [Belinda] knew instinctually where I wanted to see the magazine head for the future, she was saying some of the suggestions I had In mind of bringing up to her -as if reading my mind." a laughing Taylor said. Good fortune or fate apparently has a way of coming around when one least expects it, Belinda had made casual mention of looking for a new adventure to a mutual friend who In turn made the same slip of the tongue to Cindy, and the rest as they say Is now history. "With her experience, enthusiasm and dedication to creating long term relationships with her clients, I knew she would be a great fit and a huge asset to the magazine.” Taylor stated.
“Devotion to the customers and personalized service has always been Belinda’s No. 1 priority,” said Cindy, “That's the same principle The Plaid Horse was conceived around.” she added. It's that devotion to the readers and advertisers that have more than tripled the publication's distribution from one coast of the US to the other-under 5 years time. The magazine can be picked up at all the major equestrian competitions as well as local events 12 months of the year. "The Plaid Horse offers such exposure at a tremendous value and I know many of my customers will be excited about this. They [Plaid Horse] strive to give their advertisers the target market they are looking for at a reasonable price and I plan to continue this same path." Belinda said.
The Plaid Horse's goal is to further enhance the image of the equestrian publication and to better service their audience-advertisers and readers. “Cindy has done an excellent job knowing her customers needs-wants. We have discussed several new Ideas, including some fresh editorial focus, that we may be able to Introduce In the coming months, but for now the most Important goal Is to be able to continue to meet the needs of both the reader and the advertiser, while keeping the costs affordable and the magazine available at all major horse shows." Belinda concluded.
A long-time rider and horse-sport enthusiast, Belinda grew up In the Tidewater, VA area where she rode and competed throughout her youth. While attending Lynchburg College she was the captain of the IHSA team for nearly 4 years. “I competed all through high school both on the local and A circuits. I was like every red blooded American horse obsessed teenage girl, but who knew It would lead to a career?" Belinda mused. As an adult she continued to compete in both the younger and later older Amateur Owner Hunters and the Adult Hunters, but gave the show ring up to enjoy Virginia's famed Foxhunting trails for a few years. Now a days she touts of being semi-retired, yet still enjoys the beautiful countryside leisurely with longtime equine partner AJ. "I get some of my best Ideas sitting on his back!' joked Belinda, "So does Cindy-maybe we'll organize a staff meeting via horseback In the midst of the woods." Until then you can find Belinda and Cindy plotting their course the old fashioned way - emails and conference calls.
