North American League Competitors Focus On Points As Winter Circuits Get Underway

Annville, PA – January 16, 2015 – Competition intensifies in the North American League (NAL) as competitors look to rack up points on the winter circuits. Riders from the East Coast to the West Coast are doing all they can to add valuable points to their series standings while looking ahead toward the year-end finals, even though they are months away.

The NAL offers a great opportunity for competitors across the country to compete in five divisions including Adult Hunter; Children’s Hunter; Adult Jumper Presented by SmartPak; Children’s Jumper Presented by EquiFit; and Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Presented by UltrOZ. The qualifying season for the NAL runs from September 1 through August 31. Anyone can compete in NAL qualifying classes, but only current members are awarded points. Joining the NAL is the best way for riders to get the points necessary to make it to the Finals held at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show in Harrisburg and the Las Vegas National Horse Show. Annual memberships are only $40 per rider.

As of January 9, 2015, Mindy Wurzburg of Memphis, TN and Overseas are leading the Adult Hunter Division. Wurzburg has 864 points thus far and holds a substantial lead in the competition. Rachel Boggus of Indianapolis, IN and Favourite stand in second place with 648 points, while Madison Leigh Games of Silex, MO and Sea Willow hold third place with 636 points.

Shaye E. Coe of Versailles, KY and Heartbreaker are leading the very competitive Children’s Hunter Division with 842 points, while Lekha Ramachandran and Isis from Greensboro, NC are close behind in second place with 818 points. Hot on the trail is Hailey Lane Griffin and Winsome of Glenwood, MD who are holding third place with 749 points.

Leading the Adult Jumper Division, Presented by SmartPak, is Lindsey Tomeu of Wellington, FL andBonapart with 1466 points, followed by Maxine (Star) Schatten and Wup L with 1294 points. Holding third with 1150 points is Alison Wichman of Potomac, MD and Kix.

Anna Claire Smith of Atlanta, GA and Bilbo Baggins lead the Children’s Jumper Division, Presented by EquiFit, with 1756 points. Gabrielle Calvert of Doylestown, PA and Cat Woman are in second place with 1291 points, while Bridget Perier of Summit, NJ and Celisto H are in third place with 1248 points.

Susan DeCone of Bridgewater, NJ and Delucia are leading the Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Division, Presented by UltrOZ, with 700 points. Not far behind is Brett Burlington of Miami, FL and T Is Picobello Z in second with 691 points, while Jenna L Imperatore and Daisy Chain VT are in third place with 604 points.

The competition remains strong across North America, with points also adding up on the West Coast. Madison Leigh Games of Silex, MO and Sea Willow hold first place with 636 points in the West Coast Adult Hunter Division followed by Cheryl Rubenstein of Bellaire, TX and Riesling who are in second place with 524 points, followed by Julie Metcalfe of Fitchburg, WI and Be Boulder who have 360 points and are in third place.

Grace Gambel of Metairie, LA and Land Rover lead the West Coast Children’s Hunter Division with 468 points. In equal second place with 360 points each are Chapel Puckett of Maple Plain, MN andNewman, and Amy Coretz of Tulsa, OK and GI Jazz.

In the West Coast Adult Jumper Division, Presented by SmartPak, is Alyssa Palmquist of Chino, CA and Too Much Bling, who are leading with 325 points. Sydney Swarr of New Orleans, LA and Kirinare in second with 275 points, and Sharon Gordon of Mt Calvary, WI and Interstellar are close behind in third place with 273 points.

Leading the West Coast Children’s Jumper Division, presented by EquiFit with 717 points is Raegan Rast of Stilwell, KS and Clarissa Z.  In second place is Anna Beth Athey and HH Narcos Du Maraiswith 600 points, followed by third placed Anna Deubel of Hartland, WI and Tolett with 312 points.

Dominating the West Coast Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Division, Presented by UltrOZ is Amanda Merrick Seale of New Orleans, LA who holds both first and second places with White Socks VDL and Arizona VDL, earning 525 points and 236 points respectively. Sydney Callaway of San Diego, CA and VDL Viper H are in third with 169 points.
