The Pin Oak Charity Horse Show to Host Fifth Annual Collegiate Invitational

HOUSTON, Texas (March 3, 2015) – The Pin Oak Charity Horse Show ( will host its Fifth Annual Collegiate Invitational featuring top equestrians from eight universities on Sunday, March 22, 2015.

The Pin Oak Collegiate Invitational coincides with The 70th Pin Oak Charity Horse Show. The horse show will run from March 17 through March 29, 2015, at Great Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy, a western suburb of Houston. The Collegiate Invitational Reception will begin at 7 a.m. and the Over Fences competition will begin at approximately 7:30 a.m. The event will be held in the Tellepsen Arena and will be run in accordance with the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) rules for collegiate equestrian competition. Competitors will ride horses unfamiliar to them and that are selected at random during the morning reception. Two judges will score the competitors in a head-to-head pairing. A Best Horse Award will be given to the horse that the judges consider most valuable during the event.

The Collegiate Invitational is a true test of the athlete’s ability to work with any horse. Admission for most show events is free. General admission tickets for Grand Prix events on Saturdays, March 21 and March 28, and the International Hunter Derby on Friday, March 27, are available for a $10 donation.
