Delaney Flynn & Quite Quick WIN 1st HIPICO Santa Fe Grand Prix!

Delaney Flynn and Quite Quick triumphed at the $25,000 Century Bank/Kastel Denmark GrandPrix at the Welcome Week of the Santa Fe Summer Series!The Santa Fe Summer Series inaugural show kicked off with a bang! Fourteen-year-old Delaney Flynn took the win with her mount, Quite Quick, in the $25,000 Century Bank/Kastel Denmark Grand Prix in the opening week of this popular new horse show on Sunday, July 26.  Christian Heineking, Janet Hischer and Chenoa McElvain all claimed top awards and prize money.

With four competitors in the jump off, including Delaney’s trainer, Janet Hischer, the youngest Grand Prix rider, Delaney Flynn, flew through the course to her win.  Quite Quick, an 11-year-old Danish Warmblood – owned by Irish Rose Stables and known as “Rosie” – has been Flynn’s teammate since she was only 10 years old.

Susan Benson, Marketing Director of Kastel Denmark, stood proudly on the field to present the Grand Prix award.  She later said, “This is one of the nicest horse shows I’ve attended in North America. We appreciate the opportunity to sponsor such a quality equestrian event.”

Sitting ringside were Santa Fe Mayor, Javier Gonzales, and City Councilwoman, Signe Lindell. The events of Santa Fe Summer Series Welcome Week were designed to honor the unique setting and culture of Santa Fe for the very first Grand Prix at HIPICO Santa Fe.

This amazing horse show, featuring 600 world-class equine athletes during its three-week event, is free to the public, Wednesday through Sunday, July 29th – August 9th.  Signature Special Classes and Grand Prix jumping events begin each Saturday at 2:00pm and Sunday at 1:00pm.  In addition to exciting horse sport, the Blue Corn Brewery Beer Garden is open with no admission charge, Fridays through Sundays.  There is so much to see at this exciting horse show.  Come one, come all to this spectacular equestrian event!
