PNHS To Benefit Foundation’s Therapeutic Riding And Equine Rescue Programs

Exciting New Theme Day Events and Charity Promotions Planned for Families and Fans of all Ages
WHO: Recognized as a premier national sporting and championship event, The Pennsylvania National Horse Show presented by the Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund, is known for its significant contributions to the Central Pennsylvania region economically, and globally for excellence in competition for both men and women. PNHS attracts top hunters, jumpers, owners, trainers, future Olympians, and equestrians from across the United States and internationally, as well as sport enthusiasts, families and spectators who find the show exciting, educational and entertaining. Two levels of world-class competition occur throughout the ten-day show.
Junior Championship Weekend is held Thursday, October 13 – Sunday, October 16. The Adult Championship Week follows on Monday, October 17 – Saturday, October 22.
Over 1,400 qualified horses compete for over $500,000 in prize money including the $100,000 Grand Prix de Penn National Presented by The Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund. A portion of all proceeds from the national competition, supports the Pennsylvania National Horse Show Foundation’s equine therapeutic riding and rescue programs, as well as the Harrisburg Kiwanis’ Youth Foundation to help children and youth in need. Some of the Kiwanis programs funded include Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Capital Region, The Salvation Army, Ronald McDonald House, and American Red Cross. Each year, the Pennsylvania National Horse Show Foundation gives back over $30,000 to the community through grants.
WHAT: The Pennsylvania National Horse Show is one of the largest and most prestigious indoor shows in the U.S., hosting award-winning male and female Junior and Adult competitors, who vie for eight national championships. These include the Pessoa/US Hunter Seat Medal Final and the Neue Schule/USEF National Junior Jumper Individual and Team Championships. In addition, spectators can experience Barrel Races, Pony Races, an indoor Hunt Night with Foxhounds, Family Fun Day, and more, while also witnessing the draping of 24 champion horses with coolers and ribbons. Attendees will enjoy the excitement of the competitions in one ring, as well as new theme days, charity promotions and a special performance by a national recording artist to be announced, a full concourse of shopping and a variety of food and cash bars. Over 70 equestrian-related shopping vendors will offer fine gifts, antiques, accessories, apparel, and much more. The event showcases the best in the sport, as well as brings in an impressive $44 million in economic impact to Pennsylvania.
