Calgary, Alberta – With 40 horses sold at the Fall Classic Sale this year, the majority found new homes across North America.
This sale really had something for every buyer. The top seller Inieka BF (Cavalier x Damiro B) Bred and sold by Bosch Farms sold to Sherwood Park, AB for $32,000. While it was the best year yet with the average price being $12,406.25, there were horses of all types to service amateur hunters, dressage horses of the highest caliber to eventing and jumper prospects alike. The breeding and young stock gathered their share of the earnings, showing that many buyers are still interested in developing their own horses at home.

American buyers enjoyed a very favorable currency exchange at 75 cents on the dollar, which drew in many phone bidders, which is also an achievement for Canadian breeders.
This year’s edition of the Sale had the highest online presence in its history, with more than 1525 viewers bidding and watching the live feed. This shows the expansion of the reach of the sale, which is a goal for the sale organizers to continue to build upon year over year with advancing technology.
The organizing committee hosted the annual Gala on Saturday evening, giving an opportunity for buyers and consignors the chance to mingle before the sale began on Sunday afternoon. The gala always has a fun program for all ages, and this year a horseless in-hand competition for the young humans of the sport started the evening, followed by a dog-and-pony relay. A pig roast for all to enjoy was a delicious way to cap off the fun of the evening.
The Fall Classic Sale thanks the breeders and consignors for entrusting their horses to the Sale to market and sell them for the best possible prices.
