On Friday, January 6, Louise Serio rocked the $15,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby at The Ridge held in Wellington, Florida. She rode Jennifer Burger’s Rock Harbor to the win of both the derby and the EQUO Style Award. By winning the EQUO Style Award, Serio received champagne and a shirt from EQUO, a woven belt from Boy-O-BOY Bridleworks, and an embroidered cooler from USHJA. Serio competed against a competitive field of 23 in the derby over two rounds with four different high options throughout the courses. Be sure to look out for this winning pair during WEF and future shows!
This event was a part of the The Ridge’s new Palm Beach Series held at the Jim Brandon Equestrian Center in West Palm Beach, FL. Offering thirteen weeks of hunter, equitation and jumper classes, the Palm Beach Series also features Hunter Derby Days, consisting of a $15,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, a $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby, and a $5,000 USHJA Pony Hunter Derby. The $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby was won by Kim Barone and Dolce Vita and the $5,000 USHJA Pony Hunter Derby was won by Goodhill’s Arresting Charm and Kat Fuqua.
