Alsvid Claims Equis Boutique Best Presented Horse Award at Tryon Summer I CSI3*

Mill Spring, NC – May 31, 2017 – Alsvid, ridden by Richie Moloney (IRL), was named the Equis Boutique Best Presented Horse Award recipient during the Tryon Summer I CSI3*, held May 31 through June 4, 2017, at Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) in Mill Spring, NC.

Equis Boutique, a luxury tack and apparel shopping experience, sponsors the Best Presented Horse Award at various FEI-sanctioned events throughout the United States, including each CSI week at TIEC during the spring, summer, and fall seasons.

The FEI CSI3* Horse Inspection for Tryon Summer I was held Tuesday, May 30, at TIEC. Led by FEI Ground Jury President and Equis Boutique co-founder Cesar Hirsch (USA), the appearance and condition of horses jogging for FEI competition was evaluated. Alsvid, a 16-year-old Hanoverian gelding (Escudo I x Azur) owned by Equinimity, LLC, and groom Jesus Pimentel were recognized as the Equis Boutique Best Presented Horse Award winners.

“This is a really nice award to win, but the credit goes to the grooms,” said Moloney, who also won the Equis Best Presented Horse Award during the Tryon Fall Series in 2015. “Jesus has been with Equinimity for just over two months now, and he is very good with the horses. He knows what he is doing, and he always has the horses looking well. The jog is a very important part of the show week, and it is nice to start it off by winning an award like this.”

Moloney has had the ride on Alsvid for six years and knows the horse well, describing the black gelding as a very good speed mount.

“He has won a lot of speed classes, and he is a very nice horse to work with at home; he is everyone’s favorite,” said Moloney, who is based at TIEC for the summer months and in Wellington, FL, for the winter season.

Moloney and Pimentel were honored for the Equis Best Presented Horse Award in a presentation ceremony during the Tryon Summer I CSI3* with Melanie Bonk of Equis Boutique.
