Victory Reins is a non-profit riding center that provides therapeutic recreational equine activities for children and adults with special needs to experience the bond that is created between horse and rider.
“[Tom] is a visionary thinker,” said Chicago Visitors’ Bureau President, Jim Garrett, of HITS Founder and CEO, Tom Struzzieri. “All this has now created a new Convention and Visitors equestrian destination for the Chicago Southland—the economic impact will be substantial for the Chicago”
Garrett continued on to say that the CSCVB has developed a strong working partnership with the HITS management team which promises to be a solid economic win-win for the entire region.
It is rare that a former racetrack be redeemed within the Equine Community. Since purchasing the 200-acre Balmoral Park facility, HITS, over the course of a one-year long restoration has transformed the ninety-year old property into a Midwest mecca for equestrian sport.
Former Balmoral Park race-goers will recognize the original tote board and the same finish line post that countless racehorses have crossed since 1926. The iconic post was restored from the original racetrack and prominently placed in the Grand Prix Ring. The Grandstand shelters a mix of original photos, and memorabilia that adorn the new facility.
The celebration will be on site at 26435 S. Dixie Hwy. in Crete, IL 60417. Those using IL-394 will see the large wooden Balmoral Park sign and turn onto Elms Court Lane, and then make a right turn onto Route 1 (Dixie Hwy.). Use Gate 3 parking lot (spectator entrance) and enter building through covered main entrance at the South end of the facility.
