Thank you, to my very first pony, who helped me fall in love with this sport.
Thank you for teaching me what horsemanship was and for being the one who allowed me to learn what it took to take care of my equine partner.
Thank you for sticking with me through the hours of trying to perfect my grooming routine.
Thank you for putting up with all of the Twinkle Toes Hoof Polish and Rainbow Dust Spray.
Thank you for teaching me that when I make a mistake, I need to go back and try again.
Thank you for three wonderful summers, for coming with me to horse shows and summer camps, and for always being my best friend through it all.
Thank you for letting me cry into your neck when being in the 6th grade was really hard, and for being there when I felt like I had no one else.
Thank you for helping me find some of my best friends, most of whom I am still close with today.
And thank you, for teaching me when it was time to let go. Thank you for understanding that it was time for both of us to move on, even when I did not understand it myself, and that it was time to let you teach another little girl everything that you taught me.
I do not know where you are, but please know that six years later, I still miss you everyday. I cannot thank you enough for allowing me to fall in love with a sport that has become my whole life. Without you, I know I would not be who I am today.
