Crete, IL – June 17, 2017 – Trainers are getting on board to support a fundraiser, JUMP FOR ALZ, headed by Brenda Mueller to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Research and Awareness, as June is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. The main fundraising day is Wednesday, June 21st, which the Alzheimer’s Association has deemed The Longest Day. During the Longest Day, fundraisers are asked to raise funds by doing what they love. It made sense to Mueller to do something related to horses. The event takes place at the Showplace Spring Spectacular Show at the new HITS Balmoral Park in Crete, IL.
“I’m pleasantly surprised by by the number of people getting on board,” said Mueller. “Sometimes you think you are the only one having to deal with a friend or family member with the disease only to find out more people are affected by it than you think.”
Professionals joining in the organizing are Diane Carney/Telluride, Lorrie Canady/Galway Farm, Sue and Katie Leverick/Millenium Farm, Liz Atkins/Benchmark Farm, and Sarah Booker. More are joining in every day. They all have been affected by someone with the disease or want to raise awareness for mental disorders.
“I’m doing it in honor of my mother, Shannon, who has the disease. She was the best horse show mom ever and would be pleased that we are doing something related to horses to help fight the disease,” added Mueller.
