Mill Spring, North Carolina – Thriller P, ridden by Ignacio Maurin (ARG), was named the Equis Boutique Best Presented Horse Award recipient during the Tryon Summer VII CSI2* horse show, held July 12 through 16, 2017, at Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) in Mill Spring, NC.

Led by President Steve Sarafin (USA), the FEI Ground Jury evaluated the turnout and condition of horses presented for international competition during the FEI Horse Inspection held Tuesday, July 11, at TIEC. Of the 99 horses that were presented, Thriller P, a 13-year-old grey Swedish Warmblood (Cardento x Lucky Light) stallion owned by Stransky’s Mission Farms, Inc. and groomed by Andre Luis, was selected as the Equis Boutique Best Presented Horse Award winner.
“It’s really an amazing feeling to win an award like this,” said Maurin, 27. “I am really grateful and owe a lot of thanks to my groom, Andre Luis, and our entire team. I am really thankful that Equis offers this award; they are located at all the major horse shows and offer such a great selection of quality brands.”
Of Luis’ efforts to care for Thriller P, Maurin noted, “He has been working with me for a year and a half now and he is the best groom in the world. I will never go to a horse show without him.”
Maurin and Thriller P have been partnered since February when they stepped into the international grand prix ranks together. Maurin’s latest goal is for the stallion to help him qualify to represent his home country of Argentina at the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games taking place at TIEC next fall.
