2018 Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event Welcomes John Deere as Official Equipment Sponsor

Lexington, Kentucky – April 10, 2018Equestrian Events, Inc., organizer of the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event, has announced that John Deere, the world-renowned manufacturer of agricultural equipment, is the Official Equipment Sponsor of the 2018 event. Over 80,000 spectators are expected to return to the Kentucky Horse Park on April 26-29 for the “Best Weekend All Year,” as the world’s eventing superstars tackle the only four-star course in North America as they vie for $400,000 in prize money.

John Deere will be the Official Equipment Provider for both the 2018 Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event (LRK3DE) and the new $225,000 FEI CSI3* Invitational Show Jumping Grand Prix. John Deere will provide a variety of equipment, including GatorTM utility vehicles and tractors, to maintain the world-class venue for the duration of the event. John Deere will also have equipment on display in the Sponsor Village and have representatives onsite to answer questions.

 John Deere Equine Program – New Program, New Discounts!

LRK3DE spectators who are United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) members are encouraged to stop by the John Deere tent and speak with company representatives about the new expanded John Deere Equine Program, which now includes Equipment Discounts, Parts Savings, Home and Workshop Product Discounts, and Exclusive Member Promotions.

Competitors at the 2018 Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event will vie for $400,000 in prize money – with $130,000 going to the winner – and a chance at the $350,000 Rolex Grand Slam of Eventing, which is awarded to any rider who wins the Land Rover Kentucky, Mitsubishi Motors Badminton and Land Rover Burghley Four-Star Events in succession. This year’s Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event is also a qualifying selection trial for the Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team that will represent the U.S. in the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games™ in September.

The Dubarry of Ireland Nations Team Challenge will also be featured again this year, awarding $20,000 in prize money to the winning nation with the fewest penalties after adding together the final scores of the three highest-placed individuals from that nation.

 An exciting NEW addition to the event this year is a $225,000 FEI CSI3* Invitational Show Jumping Grand Prix, to be held in Rolex Stadium on Saturday following the completion of Cross-Country. There will also be a $35,000 1.45m FEI ranking class, also in Rolex Stadium, after Friday afternoon’s Dressage. The show jumping courses will be designed by Guilherme Jorge, show jumping course designer at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. 

The Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event is one of only six annual ‘Four Star’ three-day events in the world, and the only one in the Western Hemisphere. A ‘Four Star’ eventing competition is the sport’s highest designation, given only to the Olympic Games, World Championships and the six annual events around the world. The Kentucky event draws more than 80,000 spectators to the Kentucky Horse Park each year.
