PRESS RELEASE
Skidmore College extends appreciation to the TAKE2 Second Career Thoroughbred Program for their continued sponsorship and support of higher education.
TAKE2 promotes second careers for retired Thoroughbred racehorses as hunters and jumpers, partnering with more than 350 horse shows in 23 states. This program offers awards and prize money at shows nationwide, and through the TAKE2 League pays out $30,000 in year-end prize money to its high-score members.
“We have hosted TAKE2 Hunter and Jumper Divisions since 2012,” said Adele Einhorn, Executive Director. “As one of the first shows to partner with this great program, we’ve seen it grow substantially and are thrilled to offer $10,000 prize money at our 2018 shows.”
This year, TAKE2 offers the new High-Score Junior Rider Award, presented by Thoroughbred Charities of America. Junior riders enrolled for the award are eligible for a drawing for a $1,000 scholarship grant from TAKE2. The drawing will be held August 18 at the Saratoga Summer Show.
“We want to highlight the success of junior riders competing on Thoroughbreds and offer an incentive to higher education as well,” TAKE2 President Rick Violette Jr. said. “Skidmore has been a staunch supporter of our program since the beginning and is the perfect venue to host the drawing for our TAKE2 scholarship.”
