Yesterday’s feature class, The Erin Welcome $20,000 Ride Every Stride Grand Prix was held in the intimate setting of the Angelstone main stadium with a set starting time of 6:30 PM. Twenty four starters, a technical course and a packed house made for a great start to the Angelstone International Show Jumping Tournament’s series of Super Saturday Grand Prixs.Ten horses advanced to the jump off, Hugh Graham qualifying two of his mounts and Sam Walker put in an impressive performance jumping clear on three of his four horses.

The two gentlemen shared the podium, Graham taking top honors as well as second. Walker stood on the third step of the podium. The two riders shared a memorable prize giving as Graham was eldest rider to compete in our class; looking over young talent Walker, youngest rider competing in our Grand Prix.

Walker, fresh off of a great week at the Devon horse show in Devon, PA had a busy day of showing, also winning the Jump Canada Medal aboard Houdini & also leading the jog in the junior hunters. Way to go Sam!

The young jumper series also took place in the stadium yesterday, where Michelle Vandal made her way to top honors in all three classes. Next up for the final day of competition are featured classes such as the Modified Grand Prix and all jumper classics. Best of luck to all exhibitors! Stay tuned for weekly championships from Angelstone Tournaments!
