Fridays are always a fun filled day at Angelstone. We welcome all pony riders from short stirrup to large ponies as well as amateur hunter and jumper riders. However, hunters were at center stage yesterday as we held our weekly Hunter Derby. Two separate classes were held for both our professional riders as well as juniors and amateurs.
Beautiful ponies of all sizes were showcased by some talented young riders. The future looks bright for show jumping in Ontario! To mention a few, our Children’s pony champion was awarded to Olivia Jasin and Morton’s Katality. Also in the winners circle were riders Ella Davison and Ellah Dubeau Kielty in the Large pony division. Davison aboard Northwind Crispin was Champion, the reserve championship title was awarded to Dubeau Kielty and Dust Bunny.

We would also like to congratulate young talent Victoria Watson and her mount Foxfire Lacey on their Short Stirrup Championship!
Yesterday was also highlighted by the ever so popular Hunter Derby event. The class was held in the beautiful EEC ring setting, where designer Greg Kuti used a large variety of material to build a beautiful Derby course on our grass field. Riders were put to the test over a course of 12 jumps, with height options as well as turn options. Kristjan Good came out on top aboard Chantilly lace, Sam Walker and Miracle were our second place finishers and Shining Hour under Quincy Hayes came in third.
Same course was set for our OHJA junior/amateur Handy Hunter Challenge, where Sammy Saunders and Loverboy took top honors.
