TPH REVIEW: The RJ Classics Nora Show Coat

BY BETSY KELLEY

When I was on the hunt for a new show coat as a budget-conscious Adult Amateur, it never occurred to me that I could afford to wear a high-end brand. Much to my delight, RJ Classics Grey Label is a breath of fresh air. Offering traditional silhouettes in modern fabrics and styling at shockingly affordable prices, your wardrobe will thank you.

The Nora jacket is made of high quality stretch fabric, giving a structured look while still allowing for movement and breathability in the saddle. Available in a size range from 00 to 16 in Short, Regular, or Long length; you can enjoy the fit of a custom tailored jacket without having to decide how badly you really NEED that kidney.

The Nora jacket offers a mesh interior for maximum comfort, a hidden zipper to eliminate gapping at the buttons, and a generous amount of stretch for maximum athletic performance in the ring. I love a good stretch technical fabric in a show coat (and still have recurring stress dreams about showing in itchy wool coats in the heat of summer) but many of the stretch jackets on the market leave much to be desired in the way of structure. I don’t have the world’s broadest shoulders, and don’t love the slouchy look some stretch fabrics give.

The Nora fit like a glove, was almost impossibly comfortable, and hid a myriad of sins. If you don’t already have an RJ Classics coat in your show wardrobe; now is your chance to add one, no matter your budget. Whichever level you are showing at, you will look the part in the RJ Classics Nora Show Coat.
