
Annville, PA – July 12, 2018 – Results from the beginning of summer horse shows have helped many riders maintain their lead in the North American League (NAL) division rankings. Riders were busy chasing valuable points on the competition circuit during the month of June and the beginning of July with their sights set on their ultimate goal- a chance to compete at this year’s NAL Finals.
The NAL features series in five divisions: Adult Jumper Presented by SmartPak, Children’s Jumper Presented by EquiFit, Adult Hunter; Children’s Hunter, and Low Junior/Amateur Jumper. The Series includes classes held at hundreds of horse shows across the United States and Canada. The NAL qualifying season runs from September 1 through August 31. NAL qualifying classes are open to all competitors but only current members are awarded points. Annual memberships are only $40 per rider.
By joining the NAL, riders can accumulate the points necessary to qualify for the NAL West Finals held at the International Jumping Festival hosted by Blenheim EquiSports in San Juan Capistrano, CA, September 19-23 and the NAL National Finals held at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show in Harrisburg, PA, October 11-20. Prize money for the National Finals at Harrisburg has been increased to $12,500 for each of the five final classes.
As of the beginning of July, Alex Johnson of Portsmouth, VA jumped ahead to lead the Adult Hunter standings aboard Poetic Justice with 3,351 points, earning more than 945 points since last month. Patti Schindler of Reisterstown, MD and Glyndon are now in second place with 2,778 points followed by Cathy Morris-Schmitt of Englewood, CO and Andover who have moved into the top three with 2,698 points.
Jordan Bell of New York, NY maintains her lead aboard Chago in the Children’s Hunter standings for the third month in a row with 3,811 points. Katie Triantos of McLean, VA has moved into second place aboard Gossip Girl with 2,817 points. Sitting in third place is Cassidy Bosch, also from McLean, VA with 2,275 points riding Convinced.
Lindsey Tomeu of Wellington, FL, 2015 and 2017 Adult Jumper Final Champion, and her mount, Gold Lux, have maintained their lead in the Adult Jumper standings Presented by SmartPak all year with 6,802 points. Stephanie King of St. Augustine, FL and Co-Starr take second place with 5,371 points, earning 650 points in the past month. Tomeu also sits in third place riding Bonapart with 5,160 points.
Lauren McCaulley of Lake Charles, IL and Umano De La Ruche maintain their lead in the Children’s Jumper standings Presented by EquiFit for the second month in a row with 4,154 points. Grace Debney of Hampden, MA and Byolga move into second place with 3,816 points followed by Emmanuelle Greenberg of Boca Raton, FL aboard Carlos G in third place with 3,181 points.

Alexandra Welles of Wellington, FL and XM take the lead in the Low Junior/Amateur Jumper division with 5,901 points while Daisy Farrish of Versailles, KY and Conpardie Z sit in second place with 6,698 points. Sophie Gochman of Palm Beach, FL and Catch Me Z round out the top three with 4,884 points.
Cathy Morris-Schmitt of Greenwood Village, CO and Andover have moved into the lead in the West Coast Adult Hunter division with 2,698 points, earning 780 points in the past month. Allison Cederberg of Billings, MT and Zero Tolerance are in second place with2,538 points followed by Natalie Medlock of Orange, CA and Luciano with 1,862 points in third place.
Gabrielle Roderick of Spring Hill, KS and Select have jumped to lead the West Coast Children’s Hunter standings with 986 points. Mika Clear of Piedmont, CA and Gabriel maintain second place with 892 points.Rounding out the top three is Marina Boudreau of Calabasas, CA on Chantilly with 870 points.

Tara Brown-Stocks of Trabuco Canyon, CA and High Hopes, 2017 West Coast Adult Jumper Final Champions, lead the West Coast Adult Jumper standings Presented by SmartPak with 1,353 points. Second place is Angela Dominguez of Argyle, TX and Emilios with 1,342 points followed by Gabriela Turner of La Jolla, CA and her mount Lady Pezi in third place with 1,143 points.
Maintaining her lead in the West Coast Children’s Jumper standings Presented by EquiFit is Elizabeth Woods of Lincoln, NE and Trillick’s Black Magic with 1,405 points. Wiley Johannesmeyer of Lakeway, TX and Au Girl sit in second place with 1,325 points, only two points ahead of third place John Gilpin of Keller, TX and Sampras with 1,323 points.
Grady Lyman of Rancho Santa Fe, CA and Balade Du Ry Z continue to maintain their lead in the West Coast Low Junior/Amateur Jumper with 1,727 points followed by Ashley Vogel of Mequon, WI and Twist Des Forets with 1,713 points. Brittany Hildebrand of Houston, TX and Calina have moved down into third place with 1,304 points.
