Garren Adds Another Gold in USDF North American Junior Individual Championship at Adequan®/FEI North American Youth Championships presented by Gotham North

Caroline Garren picked up her second gold medal from the Adequan®/FEI North American Youth Championships (NAYC), presented by Gotham North on August 4 at Old Salem Farm. She added the win in the United States Dressage Federation (USDF) North American Junior Individual Championship to her record with a score of 70.14%, after having helped her Region 3 team to the team gold earlier in the week. Several athletes concluded their 2018 Adequan®/FEI North American Youth Championships (NAYC) presented by Gotham North experience by competing in the USHJA North American Show Jumping Individual Farewell Competitions on Saturday, August 4. Mexico’s Camila Saad Vega and Doncella Granith Chief topped the children’s class while Zone 3’s Barbara Ruziska and Elonie earned the blue ribbon in the combined junior and young rider class. Second Time Is the Charm: Alexander Dawson Gets His Chance at the Adequan®/FEI North American Youth Championships presented by Gotham North

Alexander Dawson qualified for his first Adequan®/FEI North American Youth Championships (NAYC) presented by Gotham North two years ago. He anticipated competing against talent from all across North America. Unfortunately, three days before the NAYC, his horse reared, lost his footing, and landed on its side. One of Dawson’s stirrups ended up lodged between his foot and horse, which broke Dawson’s tibia and fibula. This unfortunate incident derailed his dream. However, it taught him how to face a setback and tested his commitment to the sport early on. After a year of recovery and a surgical battle scar to show, Dawson arrived at Old Salem Farm for his first NAYC this week. Click here to read more.
