Wellington, Florida (February 28, 2019) – Weeks 3, 5 and 6 of the 2019 Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) proved to Christopher Payne that three times is a charm for him and his recently imported warmblood, Gratitude. In his first three shows ever, Gratitude jumped his way to winning Triple Crown’s Hunter Green 3’ Division Champion and the Triple Crown Excellence Award all three times. Triple Crown Nutrition is excited to continue to recognize the top high-performance riders who have gathered in Wellington, Florida for WEF, and was especially happy to present Payne with the Excellence Award for all three performances. This prestigious prize is given to a horse and rider team that demonstrates exemplary achievement within the equestrian community.

Living up to his mount’s name, Payne was grateful for the recognition and was excited to take home Triple Crown’s tri-colored ribbon and an engraved silver platter as a part of the award. “He is only five years old,” Payne said about Gratitude who is owned by Lisa Levine of Stillwater Farm in Cincinnati. “He was gelded last fall and came over in December. He just started showing down here for the first time ever.” Payne went on to explain how happy he is with Gratitude’s level of performance. “He’s doing the 3’ Greens, but it’s really kind of easy and boring for him. He really needs to move up to the 3’3” Greens, but I thought I should let him get a little bit of mileage before I just start putting the jumps up.”

Gratitude is one of 45 horses brought down to Florida that Payne is showing at WEF. “I’m just having a great time,” Payne said. “Enjoying the weather, and riding nice horses is really fun!”
