Wellington, Florida – March 28, 2019 – The Palm Beach Masters Series® is proud to share that the National Show Hunter Hall of Fame has recognized the $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby at the Deeridge Derby as this year’s ‘Best Derby’ award recipient.

The Deeridge Derby will receive the honor the 2019 American Show Hunter Hall of Fame banquet in Haverford, PA, on May 28.

Now in its third year, the 2019 Deeridge Derby hosted the nation’s top hunters, who put on a spectacular display of jumping at Deeridge Farms. Victoria Colvin rode to victory for the second year in a row. After topping the class with Private Practice, the eventual USHJA International Hunter Derby Championships winner, in 2018, she was best aboard Meralex Farm’s El Primero in 2019. The duo, a new partnership, received unbeatable scores from the judging panels of Linda Hough and Susie Schoellkopf and Walter T. “Timmy” Kees and Chance Arakelian.

The third and final event of the 2019 Palm Beach Masters Series®, the Deeridge Derby transforms the expansive Grass Arena at Deeridge Farms, home of the CSI4*-W Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Wellington and the CSIO5* Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ USA, into a one-of-a-kind derby field. With very few standalone derby events left in the country, the Deeridge Derby truly puts the hunters in the spotlight.

“My family and I are so proud to have the Deeridge Derby honored by the American Show Hunter Hall of Fame,” said Deeridge Derby President Katie Jacobs Robinson. “Our Derby has been a true labor of love, and we truly appreciate being recognized.”

“The Deeridge Derby has grown in popularity in the three years since its inception, and this year, a tremendous cast of top quality hunters joined us to compete at our family’s home,” she continued. “We take pride in centering the entire week around derby competition, and I think the riders and horses alike enjoy competing somewhere that’s very different from where they’re typically used to showing. It’s very special to all of us.”
