Parker, CO  (June 10 , 2019) – Up high in the Rocky Mountains, dressage rider and trainer Cassie Benson, of Heber City, Utah, rode to the top during the High Prairie Dressage show held at the beautiful Colorado Horse Park in Parker, Colorado. Riding the magnificent 17.1 hand Hanoverian gelding, Davinchi Royale, owned by adult amateur Corinne Cody, Benson won the Prix St Georges with a score of 68.6% and also claimed the Triple Crown®Excellence Award. “He’s a really neat guy – such a good horse,” Benson said of her mighty steed. “You could ride him into battle!”

Davinchi Royale, also known as “Vinnie,” was described as “the perfect adult amateur dressage horse,” and at 15, is solidly schooling Grand Prix level movements. Benson is a trainer at Hilltop Dressage in Heber City, along with Margo Gogan, where Vinnie has been in training for several years. “I came out to help Corinne, so the ride was more about keeping the horse tuned up in the show ring for her,” Benson said, explaining that she had been working with Vinnie a little over the winter, but this was actually their first time in the show ring together. Benson is excited to see how far his owner will take him, as they are currently riding in 4th Level Test 3.

High Prairie Dressage I took place on Friday, May 31, bringing together some of the best in the west. As always, Triple Crown Nutrition was on hand, to support and honor top riders and their horses.
