Wellington, FL – August 28, 2019 – ESP Summer III competition wrapped up this past weekend with the $10,000 Lactanase 1.35m Open Stake at Equestrian Village. After 12 of the total 25 entries returned for the jump-off, Samuel Parot of Wellington, FL aboard his mount Bahira S clinched the win with a time of 43.704 seconds. Diego Perez Bilbao of Wellington, FL and Orso Del Terriccio, owned by Victoria Vargas D’agostino, followed close behind in 44.393 seconds to claim second place, while another fellow Wellington, FL native, Nataly Leibovitz finished in third riding her own, Alaia Gold Z with a jump-off time of 45.933 seconds.
Hector Loyola designed Sunday’s course, which saw 12 combinations qualify for the second round. Besides the top three champions, two more combinations finished with double clear rounds – Joao Eduardo Ferreira De Carvalho of Delray Beach, FL with Karina Rocha Mello’s entry, Lamina Van’t Gelutt Z in 46.075 seconds and Tanimara Macari of Mexico, FL with her mount, Cassinette in 48.077 seconds.
Jumper Highlights
Juan Bancalari of Santo Domingo, DO was awarded the blue ribbon after crossing through the timers in 34.927 seconds and with four faults aboard his mount, Santorini in the $2,500 Equiline Low Junior/Amateur Owner Jumper Stake. Hunter Kava of Parkland, FL and Miss Moneypenny, owned by Hunter McLean Stables LLC, claimed second place with a final time of 36.587 seconds and four faults. Third-place honors were named to Dana Ventrice of Pompano Beach, FL and her entry, Dollard Jessy Stable K.V.H.L. after their first-round time of 71.226 seconds.
The M&S Child/Adult Amateur Jumper Classic presented by Dover Saddlery saw Eileen O’Leary of Monte Verde, FL aboard her own, Bahama Boy finish the jump-off in the fastest time of 35.798 seconds. Sara Gottberg of Nassau, NA cleared the timers in 73.843 seconds and four faults riding her entry, Kwik Step Van De Gasthoeve to receive the red ribbon. After a 74.321-second round and four faults added to their score, Sophie Sacagiu of Winter Garden, FL and her own Camelot claimed third place.
Hunter Highlights
Lauren Gee of Valdosta, GA swept the first and second place positions in the $500 Pony Hunter Classic aboard Madeline Jordan’s Shamrock and Briar Field Farm LLC & Montoga Inc.’s Just Enuff respectively, while Lauren Studstill of Lakeland, GA rode Bit of Laughter, owned by Augusta Iwasaki, to a third-place finish.
The Vita-Flex Amatuer Owner Hunter/Junior 3’6” & 3’3” division was once again championed by Lissa Bachner of Wellington, FL, aboard her own entry Meridian, while Marcus Cmola Au of Boca Raton, FL took home the reserve award riding Carriage Hill Farm’s Czar Du Mesnil.
The Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Children’s/Adult Hunter division saw Isabel Beltran of Jupiter, FL and her mount, Capiteel L Z claim the top prize, while Myca Harris of Wellington, FL piloted her own, Sandro Reuben to reserve.
The Academy Cross Rail Hunter division was bested by Hannah Lundgren of Port St. Lucie, FL riding her entry, Orchard Hills Dancing Dragon.
The Pilates Rocks Low Adult Amateur Hunter division named Wendy Shell of Tampa, FL champion after her performance aboard Cassique, while owner/rider Rhonda Bartolacci piloted Atterbury to a reserve victory.
Maddie Mohler of West Palm Beach, FL swept the podium of the Pilates Rocks Low Children’s Hunter division, claiming champion with Elle Lingle’s Timeless and reserve champion with Megan Sullivan’s Imagine That.
The Ag Maintenance Modified Hunter 2’/2’6” division saw Lauren Gee of Valdosta, GA at the top of the leaderboard once again, this time aboard Tranquility’s OMG, owned by Lucky Farm.
Isabel Beltran of Jupiter, FL and Capiteel L Z returned to the winner’s circle to claim the champion ribbon of the Gold Coast Feed Performance Hunter 3’6” & 3’3” division, while Emily Mitzel of Tampa, FL rode her entry, Pappy Van Winkle to reserve position.
The Score At The Top Medium/Large Pony Hunter division named Lauren Gee and Madeline Jordan’s Shamrock champion, while Addison Buetel of Wellington, FL, riding V.H. Paris Fox, owned by Gianna Siegler, took home the reserve ribbon.
Mastering the Score At The Top Small Pony Hunter division was Just Enuff, owned Briar Field Farm LLC & Montoga Inc. and ridden by Lauren Gee, while Lauren Studstill aboard Augusta Iwasaki’s Bit of Laughter claimed reserve.
Wendy Maylin of Wellington, FL and her mount, Junior XX were victorious in the USHJA Hunter 2’ & 2’3” division, while Lauren Gee finished in reserve aboard Tranquility’s OMG, owned by Lucky Farm.
The USHJA Hunter 2’6” division was bested by Wendy Shell of Tampa, FL and Cassique. Alfred Hewitt of Loxahatchee, FL and Sydney Banack’s Art of Seduction took home the reserve ribbon.
The champion of the Marshall & Sterling USHJA Hunter 2’9” division was Kelsey Duffy of PBTD Ruffian, FL and Good Question, owned by Little Brook Farms Inc., while Carolyn Teneyck of Ft. Worth, FL was awarded reserve honors with her entry, Someday.
Clair Kellner of Lutz, FL scored the champion title in the Marshall & Sterling USHJA Hunter 3’ division riding Caligua, owned by Suzanne Cayatte, while Molly Sewell of Winter Park, FL piloted Leslie Campbell’s Inverness to the reserve position.
