TPH Review: Rider’s Case is Perfect for Cell Phones and More

Riders who spend a lot of time riding on their own either at home or on the trail know the importance of keeping a cell phone with them for safety reasons, but where is the best place to store the phone? I’ve had a few different cell phone holsters in the past, but they were often awkward to get my phone in and out of and either too big or too small. One I tried required velcro, which spooked some of the young horses when I opened it. The pockets on many breeches don’t fit larger phones well either.

When I saw The Rider Supply Co on instagram, their Rider’s Case instantly caught my attention. It’s different. It has a beautiful, sleek and simple design, and is crafted from beautiful Italian leather. It is bigger than a cell phone holster and even has a spot for cash or holding credit card or two. It can seamlessly go from handy at the barn, to a night on the town thanks to perfectly positioned rings and an easy to clip on strap.

Founder of Rider Supply Co, Allie Burak, did an amazing job seeing a need in the equestrian market and answering it with a fantastic product. Burak is a rider herself, and came up with the idea while showing at the Winter Circuit in Ocala Florida in 2018.

“In the midst of getting on and off horses and running around trying to catch all of my friend’s classes, I realized I needed somewhere to put all my essentials. My phone poked uncomfortably out of my pocket, and would even fall out while riding. I witnessed too many friends lose the cash they stuffed into their pockets on their way to the vendor row,” she explained. Burak worked with her aunt to learn to sew, and made about 30 different prototypes, before landing on The Rider’s Case.

The Rider’s Case easily holds my cell phone and a few mints for Wyatt. It clips to my belt, or I can adjust the strap to hold it securely around my waist on the off chance I’m not wearing a belt. The Rider’s Case is lightweight enough that it does not pull on or effect the fit of my belt, even an elastic one, and doesn’t compromise my riding or movement with the horse.

Besides it’s perfect design for a day at the barn or horse show, the high-quality leather and classic style lets the case instantly transform to a clutch, belt bag or crossbody purse. Honestly, I put a lot more thought and effort into my barn wardrobe than my street clothes, which means that the Rider’s Case is definitely the nicest “bag” I own. I love using it for date night with my husband or a girl’s night out with friends.

It doesn’t matter if you are a serious competitor traveling the circuit or a rider like me that hits a few shows a year, The Rider’s Case is the perfect accessory. It can go from riding at the barn or keeping you organized at a big show to dinner with your barn mates or a night on the town. It is definitely one of the best new I have tried!
