Quinlan Equestrian, The Best Riding Experience in Westchester County

Quinlan Equestrian, a lifetime achievement for owner/trainer Lisa Sherman Quinlan, services lower Fairfield and Westchester counties at its location in Pleasantville, New York with an emphasis on truly tailoring the program to the horse and rider.  Having the right horse and rider combination is the key to success whether it is a beginner just starting out, a cautious adult beginning their amateur career or a junior competing at the highest level.

Meticulous care for the horse is of the utmost importance in order for horses to be happy participants in their jobs. For riders, creating a solid foundation so that they can find success is the ultimate goal whether they are pursuing top competition or just want to safely and competently ride the trails and enjoy their horses. The program at Quinlan Equestrian is kept small to ensure quality and individual attention.

Developing not just riders but horsemen, Lisa has brought students along from the beginner level to the upper equitation and jumpers. She has enjoyed bringing students to local and A-rated shows, and her students can boast many championships and year-end awards. Students have received top honors at such horse shows as the Vermont Summer Festival, HITS, Lake Placid, the Hampton Classic and Fairfield.

Lisa has nearly 30 years of experience teaching and training, having worked at the Farmington Polo Club for ten years, and 18 years at Kelsey Farm. She has also served as Corresponding Secretary and as Vice President of the Fairfield Westchester Professional Horseman’s Association. It was high time she started her own endeavor!

Lisa graduated Summa cum laude from Virginia Intermont College with a double major in business and horsemanship.  As a junior, she competed in pony hunters until she outgrew her large pony. She moved on to the big eq, and then discovered jumpers in college. Although she “loves the jumpers,” Lisa insists on kids learning the ropes in the hunters and eq until they get to three feet, “at which point they can choose the right path for them.”

Currently there are two places left for boarders and a limited number of spots for the school lessons. If you’d like to be part of the best riding experience in Westchester please contact us at 203 609-1637 www.quinlanequestrian.com  or email quinlanequestrian@gmail.com.
