Jordan Gilchrist and Shy Boy Win $11,000 in Rider Bonus Money at the Great Southwest Texas Winter Series IV

Trainer Laura Hightower and her daughter Jordan Gilchrist bought Shy Boy, the stunning black Zweibruker stallion three years ago with the hopes that he would become a top hunter. He is proving them right. During the four weeks of the Winter Series, Shy Boy and Gilchrist have won 11 blue ribbons in the Conformation Hunter Classes.  

Gilchrist and Shy Boy took 1st place in the $15,000 Hunter Rider Bonus. She earned $6,000 for her win. The second place rider, Jessica Law and her mount, earned a $4,500 bonus. Epitome and Will Roberts picked up an extra $3,000 for third. One thousand dollars was awarded to Etiquette and $500 went to Nadia Wise and Sausalito.

The $10,000 Hunter Rider Bonus was awarded as well on Saturday night. Tattinger and Sarah Rice won $4,000 for their outstanding performance in the 3’ Green division during the four week series. Supreme 6 won $3,000 with James Hensen. Jessica Zienkievicz and the beautiful Breyer won $2,000 in bonus money. Trident and Brooke Brombach won $670 and Wise Up and James Hensen received a bonus of $330.

The Final Rider Bonus, an additional prize of $5,000 went to the Overall High Point Horse/Rider Bonus winner, Shy Boy and Jordan Gilchrist, who accumulated the most points of anyone in the four weeks of showing.
