In the last few days, the United States Equestrian Federation has found a suitable venue for the fall championships. They have worked with the director’s board, show teams for the Pennsylvania National Horse Show and the Washington International Horse Show.

The USEF Fall National Championships and WIHS Championships are very important but were cancelled on August 14. This cancellation is due to the problems that have arisen due to the coronavirus pandemic.

On August 18, the organizations announced their decision to move the Dover Saddlery / Hunter Seat Medal Finals from USEF, the Platinum / USEF Performance Jumping Talent Search Finals: East, the WIHS Championship Finals, and the Neue Schule / USEF Junior Jumper National Championships to Tryon in North Carolina.

Tryon International Equestrian Centre at Mill Spring (TIEC) was the winning place as the best location to hold these events. It was chosen for its size and the scope of its facilities, and due to its location. The competitions they have carried out and their success in the events since their reopening in June 2020.

The dates selected for each competition were:

  • WIHS Children’s and Adult Hunter Championships, Wed, Oct 21
  • WIHS Children’s and Adult Jumper Championships, Thurs, Oct 22 both presented by MARS Equestrian™
  • WIHS Equitation Finals, Fri, Oct 23 (Hunter phase)
  • WIHS Equitation Finals, Sat, Oct 24 (Jumper phase and Work-off)
  • WIHS Pony Equitation Finals, Sun, Oct 25

For the Tryon International Equestrian Centre, it is a pleasure to host all these championships, as stated by Sharon Decker, the president of TIEC – Carolinas Operations.

She also commented that every year all the competitors do hard work to qualify for all these fall events. Decker has also said this is a very challenging year and has been difficult for everyone in the world.

At TIEC, they plan to take advantage of their learning in these weeks since they are working again. They work to provide a competitive environment safe for everyone present.

WIHS, TIEC, PNHS, and USEF always offer a safe environment in all their competencies. They also provide the highest quality for families, members, and exhibitors. For security, all these events will be spectator free.

The organizers of the events do a regular job and continuously monitor everything that happens with COVID-19. They will adjust all programs as prescribed by federal, state, and other public health officials.

The schedules of these events will be available this weekend. WIHS, USEF, and PNHS manage all registration and park for each event separately.

If you have questions about the available accommodation on-site, contact TIEC at hosting@tryon.com.
