FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Dr. Piper Klemm, publisher of The Plaid Horse magazine, will be a college speaker for Clarkson University’s Beacon Institute at the Metropolitan Equestrian Team Virtual College Fair on Saturday, November 14, 2020.
Klemm, who teaches out of the Beacon Institute at Clarkson University, will be discussing the value of equestrian education and topics similar to those covered in her highly regarded equestrian college courses. The online equestrian education classes are open to all and focus on business and bias in the equestrian industry, contemporary equestrian coaching and the history and industry evolution of English riding.

“I’m really looking forward to speaking with students and parents at the Metropolitan Equestrian Team’s Virtual College Fair,” said Klemm. “I’m passionate about the positive impact that education and knowledge of equestrian sport can have on our riding, and, outside of solely riding, this industry is such an amalgam of all of the skills we bring to the table. My hope is to inspire and help young riders to hone those skills to make their own positive impact on the equestrian industry.”
The Metropolitan Equestrian Team (MET) is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization that provides young aspiring athletes in grades 3-12 with the opportunity to ride as part of the team. Students learn horsemanship, sportsmanship and agricultural skills.
MET supports their students’ college preparation through education programs, access to representatives from colleges and universities and scholarship opportunities. Riders have the ability to compete with the MET under the Interscholastic Equestrian Association and the Athletic Equestrian League.
This Saturday, November 14, 2020, students and parents and the general public can attend the Virtual College Fair from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. EST to learn more about the college experience. The fair will feature college and university representatives with equestrian teams and other speakers in the equine industry.
