Happening on the 9th of October, we kick off this month’s horse racing at the Shadwell Turf Mile Stakes. The event has been conducted annually since 1986. The race takes place at the Keeneland Racecourse and will see horses of 3 years and above complete for the $1 Million race. Apart from snagging prestige, money, and trophies, the winner will also get a spot at the annual Breeders cup. The race has made tons of horses reach the high horse racing ranks, and jockey Robby Albarado has made history by riding four winners.
Breeders Futurity Stakes – 3rd October 2021
The Breeders Futurity Stakes is another race happening at the Keeneland Race tracks in October. The race is open to horses of 2 years and up, with a race cover a little bit over a mile. (11/6 miles). Regarded as the junior race to the Shadwell, the winner of the Breeders Futurity stakes will also get a ticket to compete at the Breeder’s Cup Juvenile. Since the race accepts younger thoroughbreds every year, many hopeful horses and gamblers make it to the race in the hopes of betting and winning on new and future talent.
Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe – 2-3 October 2021
If we look at European horse racing, the most significant event has to be the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. The race is open to horses who are 3 years and above, and with a distance of 1.5 miles to cover in track, all horses must be in top-notch thoroughbreds. Jockey Club Gold Cup – Mid October
