The Plaid Horse Publisher Dr. Piper Klemm has been selected as a judge for the main hunter ring at the ExEL Horse Show, December 2 – 4, 2022 at the Germantown Charity Horse Show Grounds in Germantown, TN.
Klemm is a lifelong equestrian and student of the sport, and she has dedicated much of her career to furthering her equestrian education and sharing that knowledge with others as the publisher of The Plaid Horse magazine and as an equestrian studies professor at Clarkson University. Klemm is also a strong supporter of local shows and riding programs and a continual advocate for increasing the accessibility of horse showing.
“I am honored to be a judge for yet another year at the Germantown Charity Horse Show,” Klemm said. “The team behind this event does a great job each and every year, so it should bring a competitive atmosphere in 2022.”
Founded in 2018, ExEL Shows is on a mission to bridge the gap between riding at home and riding at a rated show, having established a series of high quality, fun and affordable horse shows. ExEL shows offer a variety of classes and cater to all levels of hunter-jumper equestrians. Klemm judged at ExEL in Tennessee in June 2021.
“I am humbled and thrilled to welcome Piper Klemm back to Germantown for ExEL’s December 2022 show,” said Brittany Kasprack of ExEL Horse Shows. “Welcoming Piper to Germantown for our June 2021 show was wonderful. She brings insight [and] advice and increases the standard of our shows. Piper will be pinning our main hunter arena, which will feature a $500 Hunter Derby and $500 Equitation Challenge.
“Our participants demand a high level of education and have a high expectation of our judges,” Kasprack added. “Piper’s credentials surpass the standard and have gained the attention of several riders and trainers. She not only brings decades of experience and knowledge, but she also brings a neutral insight, as she is unfamiliar with area trainers and riders. On top of her judging, Piper has provided support and connections to grow our equestrian community and shows, for which we will be forever grateful.”
