The final foal of the 2021 breeding season at Joseph’s Dream Appaloosa Stud was born Monday, Jan. 17 at 5:00 am local time at Sandwerf Farm Namibia (Africa).
By Lefkos out of Noel (Hunters Hi Starlight), the “healthy and loud colored” filly’s first steps were captured on film and shared by the breeding operation’s Facebook page.
Joseph’s Dream Appaloosa Stud runs a traditional Appaloosa breeding program, carefully selecting the “best bloodlines of South Africa (originally imported from the USA and Europe) and imported into Namibia.”
But beyond the traditional (Foundation) Appaloosa breed, this stud is quite unique. The operation hosts art workshops, horsemanship courses and equine assisted therapies. They are also partnered with the local nonprofit Kayamoja ArtConnects Trust, which “creates the opportunity for (disadvantaged) local children to see, meet, learn about and connect with wildlife, nature and conservation through art.”
