Metropolitan Equestrian Team’s Jane DaCosta Receives HGB Genius Grant from Helen Gurley Brown Foundation

Edited Press Release

The Metropolitan Equestrian Team extends its immense thanks to The Helen Gurley Brown Foundation (HGB) for awarding a Genius Grant to Jane DaCosta for her leadership, vision, and as the founder of the Metropolitan Equestrian Team. The grant is being made out to MET and will provide support for its students nationwide.

This grant will directly benefit the MET Young Riders Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for All Program. This summer, MET students will be afforded the ability to participate in pre-college accredited online courses with Clarkson University and in-depth equestrian mounted and unmounted training sessions with Emily Elek of Stonewall Farms in Wisconsin through this grant.

MET released the following in its statement:

“We are humbled by HGB’s recognition of this organization’s tremendous leadership and lifelong commitment to equity, inclusion, and change within the equestrian world, as we continue to provide children of all backgrounds with the resources to pursue horseback riding and quality education. HGB’s dedication to our mission, of increasing access to equestrian sports, is imperative to the growth of this sport for all children regardless of their socioeconomic status.”
