5 Strides With: Mr. Wonderful

An “interview” with the Amateur-Owner Hunter (via his rider, Caitlin Buckley!)

1. What’s the best part about being in the show ring?

I love being the center of attention, so it’s fun to have all eyes on me. I also love having my picture taken so I feel in my element with photographers around. Plus, I love getting all spiffed up and being doted on before and after I show!

2. Do you think your show name fits your personality?

I certainly think I am wonderful, so I don’t think there is a name that could be a better fit. I’m a friendly and reliable guy with a big personality.

3. What’s it like having an owner and rider who’s also your braider?

I like it because we get some time to hang out and chit chat before we show. Sometimes I even get a little neck massage! She also knows exactly how I like things done, which is great because I love consistency.

4. Do you have a favorite horse show?

My favorite horse show is the National Horse Show—I love exploring the cross-country course in the Kentucky Horse Park and going for a long graze while I’m at it.

5. What celebrity would you compare yourself to?

Matthew McConaughey and I are two birds of feather. Beyond the fact that we are both handsome, I’m an adrenaline junky like he is, and I like to keep things exciting. It’s always within reason, but what’s life without a little spice? I’m also super friendly and love to spend time with my friends, whether they have 2 or 4 legs.
