It’s been a “made in America” day of dressage, with the top 3 leaders after the first group of 5* horses being American-bred. Doug Payne, currently sitting in third, said “It’s super special, all of the top three are US bred horses, I’m making sure to appreciate it.”
The current leader, Tamie Smith, has had her mare, Fleeceworks Royal, since she was a three-year-old. “She was with me the whole way and I was thrilled with her. She was awesome,” Smith said.
