Elgin, IL – July 13, 2022: For centuries Polo has been known as the “Sport of Kings,” but this summer organizers are focusing on both attracting some of the game’s crown jewels while reassuring spectators it’s a sport the average family will love and embrace. It’s all part of the inaugural “Midwest Open,” a chance to feature the sport locally and the one-of-a-kind place they’ll be playing in.

Host: Las Brisas Farm and Polo Club
Established in 2019, Las Brisas Farm and Polo Club has quickly become the Chicagoland area’s premier destination for competitive polo. The Midwest Open is an opportunity to raise awareness about the sport and offer a one-of-kind event for hundreds of families and couples looking for the best in athletic competition, food and outdoor entertainment. The tournament will primarily be played at Las Brisas Polo Clubs host location in Elgin, IL while also utilizing other facilities it maintains through the Chicagoland area.
What: Inaugural “Midwest Open” presented by Planemasters
For the first time in contemporary polo history, Las Brisas Polo Club will host the United States Polo Association Midwest Open. The vision is to bring players from all over the country to compete for the $50,000 purse, and prestigious trophy. This will be the highest level of play in the Midwest featuring exceptional polo ponies, world-class players and fans enjoying one of the most beautiful places to watch the game.
