Large Regular and Small Green Ponies Lead Off 2022 USEF Pony Finals presented by Honor Hill Farms

Lexington, Ky. – The 2022 USEF Pony Finals presented by Honor Hill Farms got underway Tuesday at the Kentucky Horse Park. Competitors took to the Rolex Stadium for the Model and Under Saddle phases of the Large Regular Pony Hunter National Championship presented by Charles Ancona and Small Green Pony Hunter National Championship.

Large Regular Pony Hunter National Championship presented by Charles Ancona

Vivian Golden and Brixton lead the field of 150 competitors in the Large Regular Pony Hunter National Championships presented by Charles Ancona. Golden (Wyomissing, Pa.) and Dr. Betsee Parker’s 2010 Deutches Reitpony gelding earned scores of 266.76 in the Model phase and 265.40 in the Under Saddle phase. They sit atop the leaderboard with an overall score of 532.16 after the first day of competition.

The large regular pony hunters will contest the Over Fences phase of the competition on Wednesday, August 10.

Small Green Pony Hunter National Championship

JJ Torano and Suns’s Up, Gertrude Hall’s 2014 Welsh Pony gelding, lead the Small Green Pony Hunter National Championship after the first day of competition on a composite score of 525.96. The pair collected scores of 257.06 in the Model phase and 268.90 in the Under Saddle phase to sit atop the leaderboard in a competitive field of 43 small green hunter ponies heading into the over fences portion of the competition.

The Small Green Pony Hunter National Championship will conclude with the Over Fences portion of the competition on Wednesday, August 10.
