The National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame is pleased to present the 2022 Fern Sawyer Award to entrepreneur and Cowgirl Museum Board Member Nadine Lipson.
The Fern Sawyer Award distinguishes an individual or organization who has worked toward and contributed to the advancement of the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame.
Lipson owns and operates The Resort at Paws Up in Montana. Nadine fell in love with horses when she and her husband Dave ran a successful equine breeding program. In 1997, they moved to Montana and began a first-class Black Angus seedstock operation. Eventually, the ranch was developed into a resort, welcoming people to experience all that Paws Up has to offer, which now includes a large herd of bison. In 2006, Nadine attended a National Cowgirl Museum outreach program which consisted of a private weekend with the Museum’s Honorees, who offered demonstrations and workshops. Realizing that The Resort at Paws Up was the perfect place to host and grow this program, she offered her location for the succeeding programs. For the last 15 years, Lipson has supported the Museum’s mission by hosting annual and seasonal Cowgirl Roundups. To date, there have been over 300 attendees, and more than 30 Honorees, making for a one-of-a kind experience all the while raising funds for the Museum. The Cowgirl Roundups educate and inspire, while showing the world that the women who shape the west, change the world, be it on the back of a horse or in the board room.
The Fern Sawyer Award will be presented to Lipson at the 46th Annual Induction Luncheon and Ceremony. The luncheon will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022 at the Dickies Arena where the Museum will also induct four women into the Hall of Fame.
