Abby Funk and Kingsley Dominate at Capital Challenge

Aboard Kingsley, the 2015 Dutch Warmblood owned by MMK Equestrian LLC, Abby Funk rode to top honors in the Green Conformation Hunter division at the 2022 Capital Challenge Horse Show.  The pair braved the rain to take a win over fences and a second-place finish in the model at one of the nation’s most prestigious and competitive events for the hunter discipline.

Abby Funk is a young professional who runs Ashwood Farm alongside her mother Mary Ann Thomas and her sister Emmalee Funk. She has proven herself alongside some of the industry’s top professionals in the show ring and has achieved particular success with Kinglsey.

Earlier this year, the pair took home the Conformation 3’6”-4’ Championship at the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival (GLEF) and Traverse City Spring Horse Shows; and Reserve Championship honors in the Green Hunter Conformation at the Split Rock Jumping Tour andKentucky Summer Horse Show.

“We are delighted with Kingsley’s performance this week at Capital Challenge,” says Thomas. “Regardless of the weather or environment, he is always reliable and truly loves to do his job. Both Abby and I feel lucky to have such a great horse in our barn, and he has a very bright future ahead of him.”
