Plaidcast Receives Winnie Award at 2022 EQUUS Film & Arts Festival 

The Plaidcast went home a winner from the 2022 EQUUS Film & Arts Festival, receiving the Winnie Award for excellence in podcasting.

The in-person EQUUS Film and Arts Fest was hosted Dec. 1-4th in Sacramento, California with an additional virtual event taking place the following week, Dec. 9-18th. The festival featured films, art, podcasts and literary entries all surrounding the equestrian industry and sport. 

The Plaidcast is a weekly horse show inspired podcast hosted by Piper Klemm, Tonya Johnston and co-hosts Traci Brooks, Michael Tokurak, Catie Staszak and Cira Pace Malta. 

In 2022, The Plaidcast featured guests ranging from veterinarians, collegiate coaches, olympic riders, safety experts and filmmakers from around the world. Listeners enjoyed in-depth conversations on topics like horsemanship, the collegiate equestrian landscape, the state of our sport and monthly mental skills coaching from Tonya Johnston. The Plaidcast is dedicated to informing riders of every level and inspiring everyone to be the best horse person they can be.
