There are plenty of amazing horse races that take place around the world. The Triple Crown is one of the most infamous, and it has been going for a long time. However, there is a newer race to be excited about.

Of course, we are talking about Pegasus, which only started in 2017. Now, we are super excited about the Pegasus horse race 2023 and the horses that are due to be participating.

This race is new, first taking place in 2017, having become one of the most highly anticipated racing events ever new year. It quickly established itself and has become a lifestyle event and luxury occasion in the South of Florida.

Who To Be On The Lookout For

This year’s Pegasus race will occur on the 28th of January, at Gulfstream Park Racing and Casino. But, if you are attending or getting involved in the betting action, who should you have your eyes on.

Well, there are some horses who are ‘hot to trot’, for you to be eyeing up before the race. We highly recommend betting on one of these amazing galloping geniuses, because there is sure to be fire beneath their hooves.

Cyberknife

First off we have a 3-year-old colt, born in 2019. Cyberknife started his racing career with a few competitive races in the 2022 Lecomte for 3rd graders. He may have finished in 6th, but he later decimated his competition in Alwoc and the Arkansas Derby later in the year at grade 1.

His most recent wins include a 2nd place win at grade 1 Travers Stakes in 2022, third place at the 2022 Pennsylvania Derby grade 1. And also his 2nd place finish at the grade 1 Breeder’s cup dirt mile in 2022.

In 2023, many have speculated that he would be in the grade 1 Pegasus World Cup, and things look pretty good for him.

White Alario

A 3-year-old colt racing from 2021 to 2022, he raced in many fields. He’s already raced at Gulfstream, as well as Monmouth park, and the Churchill Downs! Last year we saw him at the 2022 Florida Derby, where he made 1st place!

Although his 2022 Pennsylvania Derby appearance saw him finish 5th, most have high hopes for him in the Pegasus Derby this year.

Charge It

Charge It has had five starts so far, winning 2 of them. He has run some graded stakes at Gulfstream and Belmont Parks, and although he placed 2nd on 2 occasions, he finished 17th in the Kentucky Derby.

But, failure didn’t dampen his spirits and he raced to the top in his more recent stakes win at Dwyer (Graded 3), finishing 1st.

He is an admirable horse most are excited for and are hoping to see at the Pegasus Cup.

Simplification

This horse had the 3rd highest rat, being Cyberknife and White Alario. He started racing in 2021 and 2022, and has raced 12 times, winning 3 of the races, placing 2nd in one, and placing 3rd on 3 occasions.

His most significant win was a Grade 2 Fountain of Youth run in 2022, finishing first. Sadly, in the Breeder’s Cup Dirt Mile, he only placed 7th, but he has got a lot of eyes on him still, and many are hoping to see him appear at the Pegasus Cup.

We think we will see him there!

Cody’s Wish

At 4-years-old Cody’s Wish is one of the horses we hope to see with the most wins. He has won 7/11 of his starts, and has NEVER fallen from the top 3!

He had even won some massive events, including a first place win at the Breeder’s Cup Dirt Mile in 2022!

Aside from this, he won the Hanshin in 2022, the Forego in 2022, and the 2022 Westchester as well. Let’s not forget his 2nd place achievement at the Challenger Stakes.

He has a stunning and seamless record of wins, if he doesn’t get his hooves on the Pegasus track we will be surprised. And, the minute his hooves hit the turf, our bets are with this horse for a solid 1st place victory!

Brooklyn Strong

Brooklyn Strong is one of the oldest we think will show up (and we hope does). This gorgeous gelding has been racing since 2020, and has made 14 starts!

That being said, we didn’t see any major wins from him in 2022, but he placed 3rd in 4 races last year including Claim, Saginaw, Evan Shipman, and the Greenwood Cup.

However, he is still a favorite to win at the Gulfstream Park tracks.

Informative

Finally, Informative, a 5-year-old active racing horse, with a very powerful racing history. He has participated in 36 races in 5 years, won 4, made 2nd in 3, and 3rd in 3 too. Out of his significant runs we can note the Salvator Mile in 2021.

The Pegasus World Cup would be a first time for Informative, but with so many long-time fans, we anticipate he will show up. While we can’t say he will win, he will surely put on a great show!
