Edited Press Release

After a clean sweep of the over fences classes in the Green 3’9 Hunters, Brian Feigus and Redfield Farm’s Corragio came to win in the $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby. The pair ended on a total score of 357 to secure the overall winning title. In second place was MTM Lolah LOL and Dorothy Douglas, while Morgan Ward and Comissario rounded out the top three.

“Corragio always jumps amazingly,” Feigus explained, “Every jump he puts in a ten effort and there’s no better feeling. He’s got a great canter. He is just so nice to ride in big rings like this, even today when he was a little fresher.”

Feigus and the 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood stallion owned by Redfield Farms had come back to the handy round in second place, but their consistent scores throughout both rounds allowed them to move up to win the overall title.

“It means a lot to win this class just because of who I get to do it with,” expressed Feigus, “Cassie Kahle and Emil Spadone are family to me, so to be able to go out there and perform well for them and for their horse is amazing. Eventually, Cassie is going to be back out there on him and I’ll be her biggest cheerleader. I can’t wait for that day, and I hope it’s sooner rather than later.”

MTM Lolah LOL and Dorothy Douglas demonstrated their consistency in the handy round as well, moving them up from sixth to second overall with a total score of 355. Morgan Ward and Commissario moved up from seventh to win the handy round with a score of 168 and earn an overall score of 351 to take the third place honors.
