The 6th Annual CEO Horse Show in Bedford Hills, NY is taking place on June 3rd and 4th, 2023. The horse show takes place as a benefit for Endeavor Therapeutic Horsemanship, a 501c3 non-profit founded in 2014.
Endeavor offers equine assisted services for children and adults with a variety of needs, ranging from 18 months old to 80 years old. The organization started out small and, in 2020, moved to their forever home in Bedford, NY. Endeavor helped 550 people in 2022 and is expected to see 700 people this year.
The therapeutic programs include therapeutic horsemanship for individuals with disabilities, equine assisted learning, Veteran and Active-Duty Military Program, a residential youth program, clinical services (such as occupational and physical therapy), and a new program which brings horses into the two local women’s prisons to teach a vocational based curriculum.
In order to support these programs, Endeavor holds several fundraising events throughout the year including the annual CEO Horse Show, which is a heavy contributor to the organization’s annual goal.
The show is community based and brings more to the table than just your average horse show. There are twelve divisions each day and classes range from the 3’3 hunters to the 1.25m jumpers.
Saturday, known as Hunter Day, has a $3,500 Derby while Sunday, otherwise known as Jumper Day, has a $5,000 Classic.
Evan Pepper, a volunteer for the organization, found Endeavor while competing at a previous CEO Benefit Horse Show. She was given the green light to start riding again after being diagnosed with MS, as riding helps to stimulate the spinal fluid.
Once she found Endeavor, she never looked back.
“You can just feel each participants heart rate drop with the horses,” says Pepper. “I haven’t stopped talking about Endeavor since they helped me. The work they do is just fantastic.
