The Irish flag was on repeat this Friday at Wesley Clover Parks. The fourth leg of Major League Show Jumping calls Ottawa Equestrian Tournaments home this week just outside the city limits of the Canadian capital.
The day belonged to Daniel Coyle (IRL) with a victory in the 5* Winning Round aboard Ivory TCS earlier in the afternoon. The 29-year-old closed the day on a victory in the Steel-Craft 5* Qualifier aboard Quintin for owner Ariel Grange.
It was a battle against brothers in the Grand Prix Qualifier, which ended in a five-horse jump-off over tracks built by Canadian course designer Michel Vaillancourt. Jordan Coyle set the standard on Ariso before Daniel returned and eclipsed his short-track time by fractions of a second. Rounding out the Irish sweep, David O’Brien took third riding El Balou OLD.
MLSJ action continues at Wesley Clover Parks’ Ottawa Equestrian Tournaments on Saturday with the fourth leg of the MLSJ Premier Equestrian Team Competition at 4 p.m. ET and the RBC Grand Prix of Ottawa on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. To view a complete schedule, click HERE.
