The Take2 Second Career Thoroughbred Program drew a range of competitors to the Kentucky Horse Park as the week played host to its $20,000 Take2 Hunter & Jumper Finals. At the end of a second classic round in the hunter ring, it was Gottobeperfect, owned by Meghan Carney, who led the way with Jeff Gogul in the irons to be awarded the $10,000 Take2 Hunter Final Championship. Jumpers showcased their typical Thoroughbred speed, but the quickest of the double-clear finishes was produced by A Lil Evil, owned by Christian Currey and ridden by Kathryn Currey, to bring home champion honors in the $10,000 Take2 Hunter Final.

The hunter ring saw a variety of classes and divisions, featuring the $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby on Friday. Thirty-four combinations took to the first round before the top twelve returned in the handy round. Holly Shepherd would lead from start to finish to earn the victory aboard EMO Stables’ Sidenote.
