LEXINGTON, VA—Following the Virginia Horse Center Foundation’s September quarterly meeting, the organization’s Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer Glenn T. Petty are pleased to announce the addition of Judy Ulrich Miller of Hampton, Virginia, to the Board for a three-year term.

A Private Banker with TowneBank in Newport News, Ms. Miller possesses a strong background in finance, having served in the industry for over thirty years, both in the retail and wealth management sectors. Recently, she has established a niche within TowneBank in which she serves the unique needs of veterinarians, horse owners, and farms as well as human medical specialties. Ms. Miller is a lifelong equestrian; her horse, Lou, competes in the hunter ring and is trained by renowned hunter rider and judge Peg Seals of Freedom Farm in Smithfield, Virginia. Originally from Akron, Ohio, Ms. Miller was a working student for Carol Wilson Klima, who was instrumental in introducing Off the Track Thoroughbreds (OTTBs) to the hunter/jumper world.

Ms. Miller’s stellar track record of community engagement on the Virginia Peninsula includes Board service with such organizations as the Peninsula Town Center Community Development Authority, where she was past Chair for four years. She has also served on the Board of Directors of the Peninsula SPCA, The Virginia Air and Space Museum, and the Downtown Hampton Development Partnership (past Chair).

Upon her election to the Horse Center’s Board, Ms. Miller commented, “It is truly an honor to serve the Virginia Horse Center, a place that has become very special to me and so many others throughout the years. I look forward to helping the Horse Center realize its mission in a way that celebrates its traditions while innovating toward a bright future.”

Foundation Board President Roxanne Booth commented, “We are delighted to add Judy to our team of dedicated volunteers and professional staff. Her financial expertise, experiences as a competitor and owner for many years at the Horse Center as well as her geographic location add depth and breadth to our Board as we seek to represent the many facets of the equine industry.
