$20,000 Raised to Support Our Nation’s Veterans
Edited Press Release
MUSCATINE, Iowa (January 23, 2025) – Sentinel Horse Feed is proud to announce the culmination of a successful Round-Up campaign for Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP), with a celebration event 11 a.m. February 11, 2025, at the Blue Seal® Store in Brandon, Vt. (57 Alta Woods, Brandon, VT 05733).
The Sentinel Round-Up campaign raised $20,000 to support WWP’s critical mental health and wellness programs, including access to equine therapy. This therapy helps veterans build confidence and resilience by fostering connections with horses in a safe and supportive environment. Donations for the Round-Up campaign were collected at Sentinel’s Blue Seal Stores in the Northeast.
In addition to a check presentation and light snacks, the event will feature Dr. Tyshawn Jenkins, a wounded warrior and Air National Guard officer, who will share his inspiring story of resilience and service. While deployed with the U.S. Air Force in Qatar, Dr. Jenkins suffered a serious back injury that led to numerous physical and emotional challenges. He credits WWP with helping him rebuild his life through programs like Project Odyssey®.
“Wounded Warrior Project definitely saved my life because I don’t know what path I would have gone down without their help,” says Dr. Jenkins.
Today, Dr. Jenkins runs a scholarship program for at-risk youth and serves as a Peer Support Group leader for WWP, helping other veterans navigate their journeys to recovery
“Dr. Jenkins’ story is a testament to the power of community and the life-changing services offered through Wounded Warrior Project. It is an honor to support him and other veterans because of our customers’ generous donations,” notes Kristyn Sturken, Product Manager at Kent Nutrition Group.
