At all USEF-sanctioned competitions, forgo the bulky folder of physical horse health documents on visits to the horse show office.
USEF has rolled out a new feature that allows members to electronically upload all the important documents necessary for checking in and having a safe environment at a horse show. Easily accessible to the horse’s owner and show management at all times, this advanced system promotes efficiency so attention can return to the horses sooner.
From the USEF website, click on My USEF Dashboard in the top right corner, scroll down to and select the respective horse’s tile, then choose Horse Health Records. Users will then be prompted to upload Health Status Documents, Vaccinations, Coggins, and Temperature Logs.
Note that only owners can use this feature to upload documents, not trainers or barn managers. If the horse(s) are not registered under your USEF account, you will not have access to the upload portal.

If members use EquiTrace, the digital horse health tracker and Official Verified Horse Health Record Provider of US Equestrian, their documents will automatically be uploaded to USEF’s database.
In February 2025, USEF announced a partnership with EquiTrace, in a press release stating, “This partnership has led to the development and creation of an EquiTrace® EventPass that will enhance the verification and tracking of horse health documents in the show world.

EventPass will allow US Equestrian members the opportunity to manage the health documents and records of each of their horses through EquiTrace’s mobile and desktop platforms.”
Though USEF members do not have to use EquiTrace to upload horse health documents to USEF’s database, it offers a simple way to get physical copies of medical documents digitized. Of EquiTrace, USEF says:
“The user-friendly software offers a document scanning feature to upload necessary documents and eliminate the nuisance and liability of carrying physical, hard copy documents. Once health documents have been uploaded, users will click on their desired competition, add as many horses as they require, and then will be provided with an event pass to gain entry to all participating US Equestrian horse shows. This ensures efficient and accurate results and eliminates the need to find and present health records before each competition.”
