TrojanTrack Introduction
TrojanTrack was created to bridge the gap between technology and horsemanship. With nothing more than a smartphone and tripod required for operation, the highly accurate biomechanical analysis captures 52 key data points of the horse as it walks past in as little as 7 strides. With no wearables required, the non-invasive analysis monitors joint angles, velocities, and accelerations. The data points are processed by AI and an actionable report is generated within minutes, all within the TrojanTrack app. The reports produce clear, objective data on movement, broken down by balance, gait, joint, hoof, hip, and head metrics, over time creating baselines for individual horses, forming insight on long-term performance trends.
Instead of measuring against an arbitrary standard, TrojanTrack recognizes that every horse is different, and the platform will create a unique baseline for each horse. With changes in movement closely monitored over time, reports will signal even the smallest imbalances and asymmetries, allowing users to take informed actions at a preventative stage. A shareable feature in the app allows reports to be communicated with a wider team such as vets, physios, and farriers, offering a seamless experience for all parties. Case Study
The platform’s value is already being demonstrated in real-world environments. A recent case study followed a high-level competition horse who had returned to full work after a previous injury. The horse appeared sound at the time, and continued training and competing as normal. Rider feedback suggested very subtle and occasional unevenness behind, a pattern that might easily have been dismissed as day-to-day variation.
Routine TrojanTrack reports repeatedly flagged localised joint-level change across a period of 7 days. For the first 5 days, the right hind hock showed around 20% less range of motion when compared to the left. This reduced to around 7% less range of motion for the final 3 days. Although a relatively small difference which could easily have been overlooked by the human eye, TrojanTrack was able to detect that the asymmetry had still not fully resolved. The consistency of the data, combined with rider feedback, prompted further action to be taken. Investigation confirmed a serious joint infection that would have escalated rapidly had proactive intervention not been taken. Crucially, TrojanTrack supported earlier decision-making by highlighting patterns that could have been overlooked, reinforcing the importance of prevention over cure.
Current interest
Since launch, interest has been strong, with over 50 horses already signed up and using the platform as part of their daily routine and training.
