The Adventures of Pudge and Paisley – Part 3

By VIRGINIA SHAW GENTHNER

Pudge watched as the driver of the trailer began to open the back. Katie walked to the front with a lead rope. A few seconds later Pudge watched a shinny chestnut pony with two hind socks and a perfect white star back off the trailer.

Pudge found himself not being able to look away. Katie began walking the new arrival down the driveway towards the barn. A gaggle of kids, the kids who usually rode Pudge, following.

Looking for attention Pudge began to run around his paddock. He was attempting to take the focus off the newbie but it didn’t work.

After what seemed liked forever, Katie emerged from the barn with the new pony and began to walk towards Pudge’s paddock. ‘Oh no, no, no, no….’, Thought Pudge, ‘they better not be bringing that new pony up here.’ Much to a Pudge’s dismay they kept walking directly at him. Pudge laid one ear back and scowled a bit as they got closer and closer.
