McLain Ward Announces Retirement of Longtime Partner, HH Azur

On July 2, 2023, McLain Ward took to Facebook to announce the retirement of his “queen”, HH Azur.

“Annie” and Ward have a long list of accomplishments including a 9th place individual finish and a Silver Medal with the United States team at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Other wins include the 2017 Longines FEI World Cup Jumping Final, the 2019 $500,000 Rolex Grand Prix at Wellington Equestrian Festival (WEF), and the 2020 $401,000 Lugano Diamonds Grand Prix at WEF, among many others.

The Belgian Warmblood mare is retiring at the age of 17 years old.
